Essential Canicross Gear
To get started with canicross, you’ll need three main components: a pulling harness, an elastic line, and a canicross belt.
Canicross Harness
Choosing the right harness is crucial, as your dog relies on you to select a suitable one. Here are key features to look for in a canicross harness:
- Ergonomic Fit: Look for a harness with a Y-shaped neck opening that allows your dog to breathe and move freely.
- Pulling Attachment: The attachment point for the bungee line should be at the base of the tail, rather than the middle of the back, to minimize spinal stress.
Freemotion Harness 5.0

Canicross Belt

For smaller dogs, the Touring Bungee is a super lightweight option. If you run with two dogs, consider using a Y-leash or leash splitter.
